The Maternity Session
These beautiful souls contacted me for a newborn session and then quickly decided to add in a maternity session. They knew they wanted to book a session for their little guy on the way and wanted to also capture this short time before baby came. Mom actually got the session as a gift to her husband, which to me is one of the best gifts you could give!
Maternity sessions are such a wonderful way to celebrate motherhood and the amazing things our bodies can do! You can learn more about our sessions here. I love how Mom was so regal and strong in her images, I think it just shows how strong we are during pregnancy, and motherhood. In the images above we chose to use the beautiful floral backdrop from Intuition Backgrounds by Becky Gregory (no relation, lol).
We had our wonderful make up artist Chelsea Walls in for hair and make up and she never disappoints. Mom looked and felt amazing! It can be such a changer for a person’s confidence for photographs when they get their hair and make up professionally done. Plus, they get to pamper themselves before the baby arrives 😉
The Newborn Session
The arrival of Baby Sawyer was so special. I was so excited to meet this little guy and he was such a joy to photograph! He was a petite little guy with beautiful long limbs and fingers. I love to photograph all of the little details and capture all of the things that will so quickly change.
Sawyer was absolutely perfect! Such beautiful features and so sweet. I always tell parents if they have any special family heirlooms they want photographed, to bring them to the session. Dad brought his mother’s necklace that she wore every day up until she passed, a turquoise heart shaped necklace. I made sure to incorporate it into the session.
Family photos are always a part of my newborn sessions, you can read more about them here. It is such an awesome way to celebrate everyone’s newest addition. Mom’s sister was visiting Philadelphia from California and was able to attend the session. We captured a few with mom and her sister, which I am always game for. We made sure to capture big brother too!
I am so excited to see this little guy grow! He will be back for a 6 month and one year session, and I’ll be sure to post some pics!
